We invest in early-stage businesses. We want to back entrepreneurs who are trying to solve big problems in innovative ways.
What do we look for?
• Talented and highly-motivated entrepreneurs and management teams. We have a long record of working with both experienced founders and first time entrepreneurs.
• Products or services that are new and different.
• Companies operating in large, fast-growing or uncontested markets.
Where do we invest?
We want to invest in the best of British. Our current investments are all over the UK, in cities including Manchester, Edinburgh, London and Oxford.
What sectors do we specialise in?
We specialise in backing software and internet-based businesses, but our past investments also include companies operating in a wide range of different sectors. What drives us is spotting markets where innovation is creating the potential for growth. In particular, we aim to invest in sectors where the UK has the potential to lead the world.
Current areas of interest include eCommerce, mobile gaming, FinTech, Digital Health, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

At the heart of all our infrastructure investments are two core principles:
We buy real assets. We either purchase assets directly, or we buy shares in companies which directly own and operate infrastructure assets. In this way all our investments are asset-backed.
We seek returns that are stable and predictable, with long-term contracts defining visible revenues and preferably index-linkage.
By strictly observing these two simple principles, we aim to offer our investors:
Capital preservation over both short and long investment periods.
Index-linked yields – uncorrelated with the performance of other investment classes, where possible.
Where possible we prefer to hold assets to maturity, optimising their management and efficiency to secure and maximise yield.
